Le Fisherman is a 6×5 Cluster Pays slot from Hacksaw Gaming, released on 5 February 2026. It's the 8th chapter in the "Le" series, fronted by mascot Smokey the Raccoon.

Symbols must connect horizontally or vertically — diagonals don't count. The bigger the cluster (up to 12+), the bigger the payout. Minimum 5 symbols for a win.
A unique rule: when a cluster wins, the whole cluster plus every other instance of that same symbol is cleared from the grid — not just the cluster. This makes room for cascades and fresh combinations.
After removal, new symbols fall from the top. If they form new clusters, another cascade triggers. This repeats until no new wins appear — all within a single spin.
Every position that was part of a winning cluster leaves a gold frame (a Golden Square). These "charged" positions are the key to the game's big-win potential.
When a Rainbow symbol lands, all Golden Squares activate instantly — revealing special symbols (Coins, Clovers, Buckets) that can pay big.

The Golden Squares chain is the game's central mechanic. Understand this, and you understand Le Fisherman.
The key insight: Golden Squares only activate when a Rainbow symbol lands. No Rainbow, no activation. The game is about building Golden Squares and waiting for a Rainbow.
Every position that was part of a winning cluster leaves a gold frame on the grid. The more you play without a Rainbow, the more Golden Squares build up — up to all 30 positions.
Every Golden Square is revealed instantly. Each one reveals a single special symbol: a Coin, Clover or Bucket. An Epic Rainbow activates all 30 positions whether they were Golden Squares or not.
All Green Clovers multiply Coins and Buckets in a 3×3 zone right beside them (×2–×20). Then Gold Clovers activate and multiply every Coin and Bucket on the whole grid (×2–×20). Order matters!
Buckets collect the value of all Coins and activated Buckets within a 3×3 zone. Global Buckets collect everything on the grid. The collected positions then reveal new special symbols — and the chain can repeat.
When no new Bucket symbols appear, all collected values are summed and paid as one combined win. A single Epic Rainbow with plenty of Clovers and Global Buckets can theoretically approach 15,000× the bet.

Le Fisherman has three free-spins rounds of increasing strength. All start with 10 spins and are triggered by Scatter symbols.
The Big Catch Bar is only active during bonus rounds. It climbs with every Scatter that lands, and transforms the Rainbow symbol into something stronger at each level.
Strategy tip: during On Thin Ice, the priority is landing Scatters to climb the levels. Reaching Level 4 in On Thin Ice is rare but possible — and gives the same potential as Smokey Under Water. Every 5th Scatter = +1 level + 5 extra spins.
